Wishing Well

Waggoners Wells wishing Well Alfred, Lord Tennyson

Follow the paths around Waggoners Wells and at the southern end of the lakes you will find a beautiful spot where a spring emerges into the Wishing Well.

The well was built in Victorian times and in 1863 Alfred, Lord Tennyson composed a short poem here.

As part of the celebrations to mark the centenaries of the acquisition of Ludshott Common and the Ludshott Commons Committee, the Well was refurbished and this commemorative plaque erected inscribed with the poem. See other parts of the website for events, maps and projects.
