"HEATHLANDS AT DUSK"
SATURDAY 30th June 2018 at 8.30 pm
The annual 11/2 - 2 hour walk on Ludshott Common for glimpses and sounds of wildlife and birds, took placed as planned. A fantastic evening attended by around 30 visitors. We were extremely lucky to have excellent sightings of the nocturnal Nightjars and Woodcock. Chris Webb the National Trust warden for Ludshott gave a very informative talk about the commons' history, flora, fauna and the how the heathland is managed.
Visitors met at the main (Dunelm) car park on B3002 between Headley Down
and Grayshott (map ref SU853358).
Keep a look out for the details of the 2019 walk! Please wear stout footwear and bring a torch. £2 per person.
